Seven Canucks Qualify
Seven Canadians were among 16 players to earn cards as the Canadian
Tour’s Spring Qualifying School at Belmont GC in Langely June 8th.
Californian Thomas Petersson posted a final-day even par 70 to take
medallist honours. With a four-round total of 13-under 267, Petersson
finished four shots clear of runners-up Brian Benedictson from Comox,
BC and Andrew Parr (London, Ont.) and eight shots ahead of Dion
Sirianni of Kamloops. Still all three earned exempt status for the
remainder of the season. Nine others earned conditional status, among
them BCers Greg McAuley, Tyler Pitt, Greg Machtaler & Stephen
Thomas.

The massive growth of the game during the mid-90s resulted in the industry taking note of the many pluses associated with including and focussing on the lady golfer.
In the Okanagan, Tara Roden of the World Beat Family Golf Centre in Kelowna, Diana Kondrosky of the Harvest Club and Cindy Lewthwaite at Eaglequest Kelowna represent a breed of mature and experienced female teaching professionals who continue to work to grow the game. Inside Golf spoke with these ladies, who shared some thoughts on their teaching philosophies.
