PGA of BC Announces 2020 Education Series Lineup

RICHMOND, British Columbia — PGA of BC Education Series presented by Foresight Sports Canada returns in 2020 with four events across the province, once again providing the Association's membership with a wide range of professional development opportunities through the winter and spring seasons.

Featured speakers from a variety of golf-industry backgrounds and areas of expertise, including several PGA of BC members, will cover a number of topics and issues relevant to all Golf Professionals at events taking place in four of the Association’s geographical regions. The series will kick off Jan. 14 at Richmond Country Club and wrap up April 27 at Fairmont Hot Springs Resort.

Further events are scheduled for March 3 at Victoria Golf Club and March 10 at Gallagher’s Canyon Golf Club.

As part of the upcoming Education Series, we are proud to have three past recipients of national awards from the PGA of Canada among our featured speakers: 2018 Professional Development Award recipient Jason Giesbrecht (The Golf Performance Project), 2013 Coach of the Year Robert Ratcliffe (Bear Mountain Resort Community) and 2018 Class "A" Professional of the Year Greg Pool (Capilano Golf & Country Club).

Other PGA of BC members presenting to their peers during the series will include Doug Hastie (British Columbia Golf), Laird White (The Golf Performance Project), Clay Stothers (The Okanagan Golf Club), Myles Johnson (Hillview Golf Club), Trevor Simkins (Bootleg Gap Golf Course) and Simon Jones (Kimberley Golf Club).

Members are reminded that they will earn Professional Development Program points toward their 2020 total by attending Education Series events, receiving four (4) points for participating in events located within their respective PGA of BC geographical region and six (6) for events outside their region.

Furthermore, the Association’s administration team and Education Committee is in the midst of finalizing details for the 2020 PGA of BC Spring Education Seminar, which will be held Feb. 10-11 at Tsawwassen Springs Golf Course. An announcement of this year’s speaker lineup will be announced early in the New Year.
