VICTORIA, B.C. – Tournament Organizers have announced that the 2017 Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship Junior Clinic for Kids will take place on Saturday, September 16, from 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

The clinic will be held at The Westin Bear Mountain Golf Resort & Spa — the site of the PGA TOUR Champions event, and will be hosted by one of the PGA TOUR Champions players competing in the tournament.

Youth aged 17 and under will receive free admission to the Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship pro-am and tournament rounds, as well as to the Junior Clinic for Kids on Saturday, September 16 when accompanied by a paying/ticketed adult. Junior Clinic Tickets will be dispersed to junior golf programs/golf courses and schools in Vancouver Island communities in early September.

"We are thrilled to incorporate a junior component into our event week," said Tournament Director, Brad Parkins. "Juniors are the future of the game and to give them this up-close experience with golf legends will go a long way in motivating and encouraging kids to participate and stay active. It will be a really great day for all involved."

The Junior Clinic for Kids participants will receive instruction and mentorship from a PGA TOUR Champions professional, participate in an autograph session with professionals competing in the Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship, as well as watch the legends of the game practice and play during the Saturday championship round.

The 2017 Junior Clinic is made possible and presented by Archie Johnstone Plumbing & Heating Ltd., an experienced contractor in Victoria, BC and all of Vancouver Island that has been taking care of area homes and businesses for more than 60 years.

"We at Archie Johnstone Plumbing and Heating Ltd. are excited to be involved in the Pacific Links Championship - Junior Clinic,” said President, Garth Johnstone. “We are fortunate to have an opportunity to help provide children with a life experience and better their game of golf. The game of Golf helps teach us all honesty, self control and ethics, all of which are attributes we use everyday in our lives. For the Juniors, keep your head down, swing easy and remember to have fun. For the Players, enjoy the fabulous course and we wish you the best of luck.”

This is the second year the Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship Junior Clinic for Kids has taken place. In 2016, the clinic drew more than 250 kids and parents and was instructed by special guest - PGA TOUR star Graham DeLaet.
