Talented 12U Golfers Shoot Great Scores In MJT Mini Tour Order Of Merit Invitational At Quilchena

Tournament Highlights:

  • After qualifying via the MJT’s Order of Merit (OOM), a select field of 54 players aged 7 to 12 competed in the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour’s Mini Tour OOM Invitational on the private Quilchena Golf Course in Richmond, British Columbia, May 29.

  • The MJT Girls 11-12 division saw a three-way tie for first place between Clara Ding, Kathleen Dunn and Grace Guan after they all shot great rounds of even par (73).

  • Jenny Guo, 10, of West Vancouver, claimed her fourth podium finish this MJT season, after she fired a 72 on the weekend to win the MJT Girls 9-10 Division title.

  • April Zhang, 8, of Surrey, BC, maintained her MJT Girls 8U division winning streak on the Tour, going five for five with another win (75).

  • Sky Zhou, 7, of Surrey, BC, shot a great round of 73 to win the MJT Boys U8 title by three strokes.

  • Jayden Zhu, 10, of Surrey, BC, fired a 68 to claim the MJT Boys 9-10 division title in style.

  • The MJT Boys 11-12 division was shortened to 16 holes due to darkening course conditions; Jeevyn Lotay, 12, of Burnaby, BC, carded an outstanding 63 over 16 holes to win his second MJT Boys 11-12 division title this season.
