May 2021 Issue (British Columbia Version)

In this month’s BC edition of the Inside Golf Digital Magazine, our cover story features one of those incredible rounds that most of us only dream of. For Coquitlam’s Michael Caan, the dream came true as he fashioned a magical 59 on his scorecard during a round at Meadow Gardens Golf Club in Pitt Meadows.

Caan’s subsequent celebratory leap into the pond that surrounds the island 18th green at Meadow Gardens was captured by his playing partners and the video went viral on social media with the story being picked up by media outlets like Global, CBC, TSN and even Golf Digest.

British Columbia Golf’s Brad Ziemer has a great story on how Vancouver’s municipal golf courses, both the championship and pitch & putt versions, are seeing unprecedented play. There’s also a fascinating look at how Pheasant Glen GC on Vancouver Island takes a very controversial approach to aerating greens... they don’t. The Qualicum Beach facility is well known for good manicure and smooth putting surfaces... good enough to co-host the BC Amateur in 2018.

Lastly, please check out what may be happening in your area for Women’s International Golf Day on Tuesday, June 1st.

Enjoy your golf and stay safe.
