LPGA Tour Announces Updates To 2021 Competitive Schedule

DAYTONA BEACH, Florida — The LPGA Tour announced several changes to its upcoming 2021 competitive schedule.
Kapolei Golf Club in Kapolei, Oahu, Hawaii, will host the ninth playing of the LOTTE Championship on April 14-17. This marks the venue’s first return to the LPGA Tour schedule since hosting the 1996-2001 Hawaiian Ladies Open. The following week, the HUGEL-AIR PREMIA LA Open will move to a Wednesday-Saturday schedule, to be held April 21-24 at Wilshire Country Club in Los Angeles, Calif. Both tournaments will feature a field of 144 players, with Brooke Henderson (2018 and 2019 LOTTE Championship winner) and Minjee Lee (2019 HUGEL-AIR PREMIA LA Open winner) set to defend their titles after the tournaments were not held in 2020.
The schedule adjustment in California will facilitate easier travel to the following two tournaments – the HSBC Women’s World Championship at Sentosa Golf Club’s Tanjong Course in Singapore on April 29 to May 2, and the Honda LPGA Thailand at Siam Country Club’s Pattaya Old Course in Chonburi, Thailand, on May 6-9. Both events are returning to the LPGA Tour schedule after being postponed in 2020, and will be conducted under strict health protocols. Sung Hyun Park and Amy Yang are expected to defend their 2019 titles in Singapore and Thailand, respectively.
Finally, a final decision on the status of the Blue Bay LPGA, to be held on Hainan Island in the People’s Republic of China, will be announced in the coming weeks, as the LPGA continues to fully assess the situation with its partners in China.
