Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour Partners With Pin Caddy To Help Facilitate Safe Competitive Golf In Canada

The Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT), Canada’s number one-played Junior Golf Tour, is pleased to announce a brand new partnership with Pin Caddy, the safest and easiest way to retrieve your golf ball from the hole while maintaining the integrity of competitive golf.

The Pin Caddy is a small unit that allows golfers to lift the golf ball out of the cup without touching the pin or digging their hand into the hole. It is the perfect solution for a problem facing all golf associations who run competitive events. "We are absolutely thrilled to have Pin Caddy sponsoring and giving back to the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour. We love that the traditional golf experience of "holing" the ball is being upheld. To us, the game of golf is prevailing through the current global pandemic," said James Skrypec, the head teaching professional at Deer Ridge Golf Course in Kitchener, Ont., and one of the three partners in the venture.

The Pin Caddy will be used during the 2020 MJT season of events, which span coast to coast. The MJT has been able to maintain a full schedule of 60 events on the Junior Tour and Mini Tour, re-starting in late June. The Pin Caddy will be an integral part of each event, allowing the ball to come to rest at the bottom of the hole, with no threat of bouncing out, and then being safely retrieved. “Keeping our players safe and healthy while competing is of utmost importance to everyone at the MJT,” said Trent Matson, MJT National Operations Director. “The Pin Caddy allows us to continue to offer the best competitive junior golf tour for kids of all ages in Canada, by maintaining the integrity of the game while eliminating the need to touch the flagstick or reach in the hole.”
