Started in 1997 by Honourary Board Member Renate M. Mueller, Golf for Big Sisters is an annual charity golf tournament held each June at Beach Grove Golf Club in Tsawwassen to raise money for Big Sisters of BC Lower Mainland. This fun day includes a four-person Texas Scramble tournament, BBQ lunch, evening dinner & reception, silent auction, and lots of prizes.

VANCOUVER, September 4, 2007 - Organized by S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation, the 3rd Annual S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Charity Golf Tournament, held at Mayfair Lakes Golf & Country Club in Richmond, has successfully raised over $110,000 to benefit S.U.C.C.E.S.S. programs and services for seniors, youths, women and families in need, language training, health and wellness education and counseling.

72 ladies enjoyed themselves thoroughly- starting with the Caddy Auction, there was on-course activity on every hole, a fantastic buffet dinner and tons of great prizes.

2007 Results: over 8,000 holes played at 30 BCPGA golf courses by 55 pros and golfers.

The Golf Community became aware of ALS when Tom Watson’s caddy Bruce Edwards was diagnosed with ALS and later passed away. The idea of a Golf A Thon came about when three friends (a golf pro, Rotarian and an ALS Patient) were sharing a coffee at Glacier Green Golf Course discussing their concern for the lack of awareness about ALS, and the need to raise funds to support the equipment loan program provided by the ALS Society of BC.
