Great Waterway Classic Joins PGA Tour Canada Sked

The PGA Tour of Canada finalized the eighth event on its 2013 schedule with the addition of the Great Waterway Classic.

The event will take place at Upper Canada Golf Course in Morrisburg, Ontario, south of Ottawa from August 22-25, 2013.

The tournament will now bridge what would have been a seven-week gap between events when the seven-tournament schedule was originally unveiled.

Forty Cards Available At PGA Tour Canada Q-School

PGA TOUR Canada has opened registration for its Qualifying School, set to take place April 7-12 at the Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon in Beaumont, California.
 
The Qualifying School will see a minimum of 40 players earn their PGA TOUR Canada cards, with the top 20 players earning exempt status and the next 20 plus ties earning conditional cards.

Seven Events Confirmed With An Additional Event Announcement Upcoming. Season To Be Played From June-September With
$150,000 Purses.

Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and Oakville, ON -- PGA TOUR Canada is pleased to announce an initial seven event schedule to be contested from coast to coast in 2013.

At least one additional event will be announced later this year. The Times Colonist Island Savings Open in Victoria, B.C. will kick off the inaugural season of PGA TOUR Canada June 3-9, launching a new chapter in Canadian golf. The Tour will begin play in June before heading across the country and finishing in September.

CJGA Partners with PGA Tour Canada Events in Alberta

Richmond Hill, ON – The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) announced its partnership with Linx Marketing, operators of two PGA TOUR Canada events in Alberta, the ATB Financial Classic presented by TELUS and The Syncrude Boreal Open presented by AECON.

The partnership will see the creation of the ATB Financial Junior Qualifier and The Syncrude Junior Qualifier with a tournament exemption into each of the aforementioned PGA TOUR Canada events up for grabs.

Edmonton’s Goplin Named As CPGA’s Murray Tucker Award Winner

While Trevor Goplin was given the Murray Tucker Award as the country’s Golf Professional of the Year for 2012, the honour may have just as easily been referred to as the Mentor of the Year Award.
 
You see Goplin, the head professional at the Derrick Golf and Winter Club in Edmonton, doesn’t just run a golf pro shop and the staff therein.
