The Smithers' Par 3 Riverside Golf and RV Park has been battling mother nature this winter. An ice jam caused the Bulkley River to over flow, spilling almost three feet of water on to a portion of the golf course. The major threat to the condition of the grounds is the potential formation of ice. In the Northern reaches of B.C.'s interior, turf damaged during the winter generally takes a full season to return to a healthy state. It is an ongoing fact of life for owner Delee Yuen, who has encountered drought conditions, flooding and early snowfalls since 2005.
